Akona® Medium-Duty Refractory Mortar is a dry, pre-blended mortar designed for high-heat applications such as fireplaces, fire pit rings, pizza ovens, barbeques, and chimneys. It bonds fire brick and clay flues and withstands extreme temperatures that would cause regular mortar to fail. Rated to resist up to 2,550°F (1,399°C) and meets ASTM C199 requirements.

- Laying fire brick or clay masonry in high heat applications

- Use for constructing or tuck pointing fireplaces, barbecues, and chimneys
