Akona® Foundation Coating Cement is a Portland-cement coating designed to protect polystyrene insulation board and insulated concrete forms (ICF) from weather, UV rays, and general wear. It is polymer-modified with fibers to reduce shrinkage and improve adhesion, resulting in a strong, durable finish. This coating can be brushed or troweled on and creates a tough, gray, textured, or stucco-like surface. It may also be colored with a liquid cement/mortar colorant or painted after complete curing to match surrounding finishes.
use For:
- Interior or exterior applications
- Protects exposed insulation board from damage to: UV rays or weathering and general wear or impact
- Create textured finish coat of insulation
- Use above or below grade
